Systems Administrator | Belfast | > £40,000

After the recent news of a Belfast Business ‘Tribe’s’ growth due to phenomenal success, T’Challa returns home to the Northern Nation of Belfast, to take his rightful place as hunter & king. When the ‘Tribe’ requested the support of Graffiti to find an experienced System Administrator, who has the expert skills in Infrastructure Technologies, T’Challa’s wanted to support us as a hunter, and the Black Panther is now put to the test.

He is tasked with supporting Graffiti on finding an experienced System Administrator for one of Belfast’s Global Leaders in the Design and Development of Software Solutions and Web Applications. The Systems Administrator will play a key role in defining the roadmap for future web-hosting services with a combination of co-lo, managed service & public cloud. Your Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that services and infrastructure offered to clients is robust, secure & technically excellent.
  • Consult with customers to specify & configure the hosting service to best meet their needs.
  • Ad-Hoc IT Advice for employees & ensure LAN / WAN is fit for purpose
  • Providing excellent technical advice both directly to customers and to colleagues on the Support Team
  • Mentor & help to train the Support Team on server environments to aid their support of customers

 

Skills and Qualities

  • Must have a minimum of five years recent & relevant experience
  • Linux Apache MySQL PHP (LAMP) – Ubuntu
  • Knowledgeable on Amazon Web Services
  • Monitoring – Eg. Nagios / Cacti. Equivalent technologies acceptable.
  • Scripting & Automation (Bash, Ansible / Puppet / Chef / Salt)
  • Database Management & Tuning (MySQL (primary) / MariaDB / Other)
  • Ability to write excellent and clear technical documentation
  • Experience in researching & specifying a hosting solution depending on customer requirements both pre-& post sale.
  • Strong experience in Hosting Infrastructure (Firewalls, Hypervisors [VMWare vSphere / XenServer], SAN, Network, Load Balancing)
  • Knowledge of Mail Transfer Agents (Eg. Postfix)
  • Knowledge of VPN’s
  • Able to organise & analyse performance & penetration tests
