Junior Software Developer | Telford | £25,000

We are seeking a motivated and responsible Junior PHP Web Developer who can help our clients existing team of programmers build, update and manage back-end services and the interchange of data. Your primary focus will be the development of leading open source technologies, developing plugins and integrations, as well as building and maintaining innovative in-house solutions.

You will need to have the ability to write well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices. You must also be able to take direction, adjust quickly to changes and be knowledgeable in the latest authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, plugins and integrations.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • 1-3 years experience developing PHP web applications
  • 3 years working in a professional capacity
  • General understanding of LAMP stack
  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript experience
  • Relational databases (preferably MySQL)
  • Version control (preferably Git)
  • Understanding of responsive design and principals
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work flexibly both in a small team and independently

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in maintaining existing web applications and websites
  • Developing plugins and integrations
  • Supporting back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users
  • Responsible for debugging, testing, and resolving issues reported in a timely manner
  • Work as a team and independently to develop new features based on prototypes/mock-ups
  • Develop and test for cross-browser compatibility
  • Handle smaller projects independently, coordinating with other team members and third-parties as needed
