IT Support Engineer | Telford | >£27,000
We are looking for a qualified and experience IT Support Engineer to join an established, successful Technology business in Telford, that also has a Gold standard award in ‘Investors In People’. This is an amazing opportunity for an experience IT Support Engineer to have autonomy, daily challenges and work with a variety of technologies including Hardware and Software. You will work within a small team of IT Support Technicians where you can share ideas and solve problems to support the overall business goals.
You will have the responsibility to maintain the core infrastructure technologies within the business that support the CRM and digital topologies. This also includes PCs/laptops, servers, network, security alongside end-user-computing.
Your Role:
This roles server as a technical support for the company that operates three offices. The team helps members in various departments alongside several hundred remote workers through troubleshooting technology issues. These include:
- Office365 administration
- Test and evaluate new technology
- Diagnose and solve hardware and software faults
- Order from and maintain good relations with our suppliers
- Assist the IT manager with project work to grow the technology infrastructure of the company
- Performs one-on-one computer coaching on technology when necessary
About you:
- Acts quickly in crisis situations so the company can resume normal operations as soon as possible
- Adapts quickly to changing circumstances, new standards and requests
- Ability to document processes, procedures and results
- To recommend appropriate Information Technology solutions to fit business needs
Your Skills:
- Enthusiasm – foremost of what we need is someone with enthusiasm and a willingness to help
- Network knowledge – ideally WatchGuard technologies
- Microsoft certified solutions expert (MCSE)
- 4+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
- 2+ years’ experience on current network operating systems
- Network security – extensive knowledge of one of the leading SIEM platforms
- Good understanding of VMware 6.x or above
- Good understanding of Azure – primary from an infrastructure perspective
- Good understanding with Cloud telephony
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations
- Problem solving skills
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
